This version of the 2 of Pentacles is traditional. When the card turns up in a reading, it can suggest that we also have things which we must juggle and try to keep afloat. While the dog bites at the woman’s skirt and the child dances around her [with what looks like a tube of something he’s about to squeeze], she keeps on going.
Some of us can cope in situations like this. Whether we are balancing two jobs, trying to find a happy-medium between our home and work life, juggling our finances, or even maintaining two lovers, this card suggests that we multitask well and don’t lose our head where others might become overwhelmed. This is not a card of buckling under the pressure; instead, it is about being one step ahead of the game .. and sometimes enjoying the process.
Are you balancing more than one thing today? Have you got a lot on? Maybe people are making demands of you at a time when you already have a full diary of responsibilities. Even though you may feel pushed or pressurised, recognise that you are managing despite the odds.
Of this card, it says in the accompanying manual “The 2 of Pentacles is about maintaining a balance, even when you have a snotty-nosed brat tugging at your right leg and a belligerent cocker-spaniel chewing on your left”. Know that the energy of this card is only temporary, but for the moment, you are doing a good job!
