Here are your cards for the week of September 15th – 21st.
As the week begins, we are welcomed by the 3 of Pentacles.
Not unlike the traditional Waite version, we see three people in my card. Each has a purpose. One person, standing halfway up a ladder, decorates the back wall with a paint-roller. Maybe the man with the clipboard is the foreman, managing the project. Is the woman the over-all boss or is she the client? All three have a hand in this scene, therefore representing a team.
The team is especially important at the start of this week and may very well have something to do with your working life. Who can you rely on and who can rely on you? As much as we’d like to think we are completely self-sufficient, we need others and this card can represent a professional community – be that a work force, contacts, or a prospective job. Work and those who can assist in your working life will be important on Monday and Tuesday. Look to them for support or consider showing your own staff how important they are to you! This card often comes up when work is imminent or takes centre stage, so it could simply represent an active couple of days, where work will have a strong influence.
How we view this card is down to our perception. If you are eager to get to where you need to be, then this will come as a welcome omen. It is the nature of fire to burn with great speed, so if you are in a hurry for something to be completed or can’t wait for the next adventure to start, then the 8 of Wands will excitedly keep you on your toes. However, if you view this card with intrepidation, then things might move too quickly and feel out of your grasp by Thursday.
For those of us who feel as though we are losing control or are being pulled along with the arrangements of others, this card indicates a need to put the breaks on. If a relationship is moving too quickly or you’re feeling rushed into making a decision, this is the time to say so, rather than suffer in silence.
This week will make it’s mark. It shows speed, busyness and hard work. It will also bring about struggle and slight conflict. This could well have something to do with your working amongst the team (the 3 of Pentacles) or your need to take yourself off of the roller coaster (the 8 of Wands). Not everyone will understand where you are coming from and this might cause a little friction in your relationships.
Remember that the energy of the 5 of Wands is brief. These small disruptions will not last forever and in some situations, could be healthy. The young guys in the image are all testing their strength in the group. Sometimes, we need a test to remind us that we still have that fight within us. This would be a good time to take up friendly competition and show others what you are made of. If you are considering some kind of contest, you will likely be a good match for your competitors.
With a week of tests before us, we must remember to take rest. It is the small trials in life which often keep us strong and healthy, but we must also realise when to hold out our hand and say no.
